The 81st Texas Legislature failed to renew the agency known as the Texas Residential Construction Commission. The TRCC was established in 2004, with a stated mission of “Promoting quality construction for Texans by registering industry members and residential construction projects; providing information and educating homeowners and the residential construction industry; acting as a resource for complainants; and offering a neutral, technical review of alleged post-construction defects.”
The TRCC acted as the liaison between homeowners and builders and established a process by which homeowner complaints could be resolved. The early criticism of the TRCC was that it lacked punitive authority to enforce its rulings with the builders. However, in 2007 House Bill 730 gave broader authority to the commission to levy fines and revoke the licenses of non-compliant builders. Read More→
The City of Bee Cave formally dedicated the 50-acre Bee Cave Central Park and recently held a recognition ceremony. The Mayor, along with members of City Council, the Economic Development Board and the Planning & Zoning Commission, thanked everyone involved for their efforts. The City of Bee Cave understands how important this impressive amenity is and is anxiously waiting to allow native and seeded grasses to take root before the Park opens officially. The contractors are working diligently to complete the project which hosts a dog area, basketball courts, a running trail, Playscapes for the children, music areas and a Frisbee Golf course. The Bee Cave Central Park is located at the intersection of Ranch Road 620 and the newly opened Bee Caves Parkway, extremely convenient for those living in Lakeway new homes. Be sure to drive by and see what a wonderful addition to the community is in store for you and your family!
Back to School Tips for your Home

Back to school means earlier wake-up calls and bustling mornings for everyone. In an attempt to keep your morning as chaos free as possible, keep each of your family members’ important items divided, decluttered and off the floor in a simple set of cubbies positioned near your most-used door.
Whether it’s the coat room or the front hall, by placing a compartmentalized storage piece in your home, you can create a special, go-to spot for your kids’ sports gear, school supplies, lunchbox, even their favorite ball cap. They’ll always know where to find their most important items as you make a mad dash out the door-and best of all, where to put them when they arrive back home.
Also, post messages the old classroom way by creating a quick and easy chalkboard right in your own kitchen. Begin by purchasing chalkboard paint from your local craft or hardware store, and then select the item you’d like to paint. Try transforming the inside of a pantry door or even an entire accent wall. Any way you choose, your kids will never miss another school assignment, sports event or doctor’s appointment - you can chalk it up to smart organization. Read More→
The Lakeway Airpark
Posted by:
Did you know that Lakeway has an Airpark? Sterling Custom Homes has built homes for many flying enthusiasts over the years, including two homes on the airstrip at the Lakeway Airpark with hangars attached.
Originally constructed in 1936, The Lakeway Airpark, Inc. was since formed by Lakeway residents and interested parties to own and manage Lakeway Airpark. The Airpark is a privately owned, not for profit, public use airport for residents and guests of Lakeway. No public funds are used and the airport is supported by fees and fuel sales at the airport.
The Airpark makes the Lakeway area so much more accessible to many folks. With the upcoming opening of the road through Rough Hollow, the communities along Bee Creek Road and Thurman Bend Road will have much easier access to the Airpark and all the Lakeway amenities.
The Lakeway airpark is an unmanned facility open for use from sunrise to sunset seven days a week. They offer Self Serve 100LL fuel currently at $4.09 per gallon. Transient parking is available for $10 a night.
