Guess who is coming to entertain Austin? Norah Jones will perform on May 1st at Stubb’s BBQ at 801 Red River. Known for her smooth jazzy voice, this musician (piano, keyboard, guitar) is the recipient of multiple Grammy awards and has recently released her fourth album.
Carrie Underwood will make a stop in Austin, as well! The fourth season American Idol winner and recipient of the 2010 Entertainer of the year is also nominated for 3 CMT videos. This country music singer and songwriter will grace the capitol city on May 12th at the Frank Erwin Center. Read More→
The Recession is Easing in Austin

The Nation’s capital and the great Lone Star State capital area are tied for the #1 position for emerging from the recession better than any other major cities in the nation. Three other Texas metropolitan statistical areas appeared on the list that looked for low unemployment rate, rate of job growth (based on Bureau of Labor statistics) and assurance of continual steady growth based on a three year forecast from Moody’s Economy; Forbes looked at metros with the highest positive change in median sale price for single-family homes between the third and fourth quarter of 2009 (according to the National Assoc. of Realtors) and finally, Forbes considered the most recent GDP report available.
Making the list at #7 was San Antonio, #4 Houston/Sugar Land/Baytown and #3 Dallas/Ft. Worth/Arlington metropolitan areas. Austin, these other Texas areas and the remaining Top Ten metropolitans have demonstrated their resistance to the housing crises or are resilient enough that demand is returning more quickly than other areas of the nation. Have you ever been frustrated with the endless papers, receipts, documents and manuals? Many of which a hard copy is unnecessary. Have you considered transitioning to a partial or full paperless office due to growing clutter? It is a worthy consideration….taking the time to scan in those things you really need, saving them on your computer and external hard drive, and subsequently shredding the information.
