Whole Foods Market to open May 16th
Posted by:Whole Foods Market has been an Austin native since 1980. With over 310 stores across North America and the United Kingdom, Whole Foods has established itself as the worldwide leader in natural and organic food. For Lakeway custom home owners and the area surrounding Lake Travis, it is about to become a whole lot easier to shop for your natural and organic products.
On May 16th, Whole Foods Market will open a brand new location in Bee Cave, TX at the Hill Country Galleria. As announced by Bee Cave Store Team Leader, Wade Taylor, there will be several festivities going on during the first week of opening. The store will open at 8:00am but you are invited to come at 7:30am for coffee and a bread breaking ceremony. The store will feature a patio balcony with Hill Country views. Upstairs, there will be a bar called “The Buzz” in which specialty beer and wine will be served on tap. Opening day will be filled with live music and food.
Lakeway is home to the best golf in Austin
Posted by:The city of Lakeway has long been known to be home to some of the best golf in the Austin area. As you watch The Masters, you might experience a strange little tingle deep within you, an urge even. That feeling is what golfers call “The Itch.” It’s a phenomenon that causes you to suddenly have the need to hit the links. Just seeing the lush, green grounds of Augusta National, the best maintained and most exclusive golf club in, perhaps, the world, makes me want to go play some golf. Luckily there are plenty of golf courses in the Lakeway area to escape to. Some of the best custom homes in Austin are built on these golf courses so when I should be able to go on a field trip and can call it “market research,” right?
Speaking of research, here’s a list of the beautiful and challenging golf courses in and around Lakeway.
After breaking ground in July of 2009, Lakeway Regional Medical Center will be open for services on April 16th. The 250,000 square-foot facility is anticipated to service more than 100,000 people in an area that extends from FM 2222 and Steiner Ranch, through Lakeway, down to Dripping Springs, and out to Spicewood. That also covers a majority of the locations in which your Austin custom home builder has built homes. The medical center will have a heliport so, if necessary, services could extend to the north shores of Lake Travis, too.
LRMC will be host to 106 Licensed Beds in private rooms, 6 Operating Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Rooms, 2 Pain Management Rooms, 8 Urgent Care Rooms, 3 Trauma & 12 ED Treatment Rooms, 6 Labor Delivery Recovery Rooms, 2 Delivery Dooms/C-Section, 73 Med Surg Private Patient Rooms, 11 Bed Neonatal Critical Care Unit, 18 Bed Critical Care Unit, and 3 Cardiac Cath Suites. In addition, LRMC will serve as a Level II Trauma Center, one of only two in the Austin area.
LRMC is expected to employ about 250 when it opens with about 110 of them being doctors. At the end of its first six month, it could employ 500 people, and 1,000 by the end of its first year.
If you will be working at the medical center and are looking for luxury custom homes in the area, Sterling Custom Homes has your immediate solution. We currently have a home for sale and ready for move-in. It’s conveniently located minutes from LRMC in Flintrock Falls at 111 Escavera Cove.
Now that spring has arrived and we’ve been enjoying warm weather and clear skies, it’s time to begin your spring cleaning rituals. This year, instead of just vacuuming and dusting, we at Sterling Custom Homes want to remind you that performing spring home maintenance on your Austin luxury real estate is just as important as removing the dust from your baseboards and curtains. To help you begin the process, we’ve listed the areas of your home that you should address.
Smoke Detectors: Make sure that there is one on each floor of your home, inspect them monthly to see that they’re working and change the batteries as needed.
Light Bulbs: Examine the bulbs in all of your fixtures to see that they are working and are the correct wattage as recommended by the manufacturer. Also, replace high-intensity with fluorescent bulbs that don’t produce as much heat.
Electrical Outlets: Check all outlets for frayed wires, loose-fitting plugs or other fire hazards such as overloaded electrical outlets, fuse boxes and extension cords. Read More→
From boutique shopping, restaurants and art galleries to historical and picturesque weekend destinations, you don’t have far to travel to experience all that Austin has to offer. If you’re looking for something to do near your Austin luxury real estate, then you should visit Mount Bonnell.
Boasting a bird’s eye panoramic view of Lake Austin, the Austin skyline and the Pennybacker Bridge, Mount Bonnell is the perfect spot for exercise enthusiasts who enjoy hiking and nature buffs looking for a relaxing place to have a picnic. It’s also a great backdrop for special occasion photography sessions to celebrate an engagement, wedding or graduation.
The overlook area has two access points: a rocky trail from the north and a steep set of stairs at the south end. However, don’t let that discourage you. Neither access point represents a major hike. Just make sure to wear a sensible pair of shoes and pack your water bottle and sunscreen. Read More→
