It’s very refreshing to build once again in the familiar territory of Seven Oaks. In 2006, we participated in the Home Builders Association’s Parade of Homes in this beautiful, secluded community. With the scenic views of the Texas Hill Country and the natural habitat reserves surrounding the spacious homesites of Seven Oaks, it was only a matter of time before we would break ground on custom homes in Austin here once again.
The new featured Sterling Custom Home in Seven Oaks will be at 800 Marly Way. This uniquely shaped homesite presented a bit of a challenge during the design process. The homesite is reverse-pie shaped, the wide side opening toward the street and narrowing as it goes back, with three distinct tiers as it rises in elevation from front to back. The home will be situated on the middle tier in order to reduce the amount of fill and cuts needed for the project. To maximize the view for our client, the home has been designed to overlook the nature preserve that surrounds Seven Oaks. In order to achieve this, we designed the rear of the home to face the street.
The home will feature 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a 3-car garage, and 5,463 square feet of indoor living space. A majority of the luxury custom homes we build feature a large, expansive set of sliding glass doors, some of which disappear into the wall of the home. This home will actually have two sets of these glass doors, with one disappearing into the wall. Using these doors enables the client to maximize their view. To further take advantage of the view, the outdoor living area will have an oversize, negative edge spa. When the water from the spa goes over the negative edge, it will cascade down into a collection pool and present a very finished look from the street.
