Where the Driveway Meets the Garage
ByConstantly refining our processes at Sterling Custom Homes, Vick Pope, VP of Construction, has developed a driveway application that creates a beautiful finishing touch to your Austin luxury real estate.
In the past, the driveway material was only poured to the exterior of the Garage Apron – exposing the joint where the driveway meets the foundation. Since these are almost always two different finishes, the continuity of the driveway material was broken up – even when the garage door was closed (see photo #1).
Our revised process requires us to drop the foundation at the Garage Apron to accept a finished layer of driveway material that terminates at the lip, where the Garage Door meets the concrete (see photo #2). As you can see, this provides a more unified, seamless flow and a more professional finished look as the driveway material flows up to the closed garage door.
As Vick Pope said, “So many times it doesn’t cost any more to implement a change like the Driveway/Garage Apron improvement. It only requires the desire to constantly improve and the mindset that never accepts things as the way they’ve always been done.”
Don’t you deserve a custom Austin home builder that puts this level of thought and care into even the slightest detail in your custom home? Let us make your next custom home the masterpiece you deserve!
